4 Countries to See During Any Europe Road Trip

Europe is a continent of many wonders. From the historic castles to the lush vineyards, Europe has something for everyone. But if you are only in Europe for a short time, it can be hard to see everything on your list. That’s why we put together this list of five countries that make great stops during any European road trip!

Although, before planning a road trip, it is important to keep the safety of you and your fellow travellers in mind. Firstly, make sure there is more than one driver so that the entire load of the trip does not fall on one person. Next, make sure your vehicle is serviced before you take it out for a long duration. Lastly, make sure those that have opted for driving have a license and have also undertaken the driving test necessary to get one. You don’t want to be pulled over by authorities in the middle of your trip, especially for an issue that can be totally avoided.

That said, now that we have the important considerations out of the way, let us get back to locations that you should definitely explore!

1 Causeway Coastal Route – Ireland

The Causeway Coastal Route is a scenic drive through Northern Ireland from Belfast to Derry. The route winds along the sea with views of castles, beaches, and cliffs. There are also many historical sites like Dunluce Castle or Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge that will teach you about Irish history while giving you stunning coastal views! If the weather isn’t great, there’s no need to worry because this road trip has plenty of stops where you can get out and explore indoors as well!

2 Autobahn – Germany

The Autobahn is a network of roads in Germany that doesn’t have any speed limits. So you can drive as fast as you want, and it’s one fantastic ride! Of course, there are many stops along the way, such as castles, palaces, or small towns, to break up your drive but what we love most about this road trip is how well-marked everything is. It makes traveling stress-free because once you find where you’re going, getting there feels effortless since all signs will lead you right to it without having too much backtracking!

3 Amalfi Coast – Italy

The Amalfi Coast is a stretch of coastline on the Sorrentine Peninsula in southwestern Italy, filled with quaint towns and gorgeous views. The most popular stops along this route are Ravello, Positano, and Amalfi, but there are many other small hidden gems to explore as well! It’s also vital to get your Europe visas in order, you can do this by visiting their website. So whether you’re looking for seaside views or cliffside hikes, this coastal drive has it all. You can also visit Pompeii and the ruins of Mount Vesuvius to learn about Italy’s history.

4 Provence – Southern France

Provence is a region in southern France known for its lavender fields and vineyards. It’s the perfect place to spend some time exploring everything from Roman ruins, medieval castles, and quaint towns, all while enjoying the beautiful French countryside! 5 North Coast 500 – Scotland

The North Coast 500 is a scenic route in Scotland known as one of the Best Road Trips Ever. You’ll pass by castles, lochs, and forests on this road trip but our favorite part about it are all the hidden gems you can find along the way! There are plenty of stops to get out & hike around or even go whale watching if you’re lucky enough since there’s no speed limit on this drive either, which means more time exploring everything from beaches to mountains!

These are the five countries that should be included on any European road trip. While there is so much more to see in Europe than these four, they’re perfect stops if you only have a short time frame!
