Ever wonder why? 12 National Championships, more SEC Championships than I can count to, and the history and tradition that goes with Alabama Football… Never had a Heisman. Ok, here’s why… Alabama Football is a team sport and coaches have always had this mentality. Nick Saban is no exception. Look at a couple things that he’s done this year already and it will prove the point.

• McElroy – Dude was lighting up North Texas. He almost had 200 yards at the half with a couple TDs. Instead of running him all game, Nick brought in the future QBs for some play time.
• The RB Squad – Instead of featuring a back, Nick is running 3 and 4 backs each game. There is no way that any of them could win a Heisman like that. Ask them if they care, I bet they say that they don’t. Alabama has 3 RBs that would start at 90% of the Div I schools out there. Amazing!

What brought this up is a Facebook group rallying the troops to try to get Greg McElroy into the Heisman talks. It’s a noble gesture, but I can’t see it happening. Not this year, not next year. Never.
