Hire Me

Hello. I am Chris Leckness and you are on my blog. You must have clicked a link that said “Hire Me”! If you meant to click that link, I am glad to see you here. I am looking for opportunities that might fit me. I have varied experience that qualify me for something out there. I am just not 100% sure what that something is. Well, I do know that I am more than qualified to be an electronics technician since that is what I have been doing for 20 years. I am still unsure if that is what I want to do for the next 20 though. To start off, this is what I have been doing for 20 year:

  • I was an electronics technician in the US Navy for 9 years.
  • I am currently into my 11th year as an electronics tech for a AT&T.
  • I have been dabbling in Web Design since 1997. I have been called a serial webmaster by 3 different, unrelated individuals.
  • I am the former owner of many well established websites. I will share more about this experience later.
  • I am 1 class away from an Business Management degree from Shelton State Community College. (Shortened by work load caused by Hurricane Katrina)
  • In addition to the websites I have established, I was the Editor in Chief for Aximsite and Mobilitysite for the last 8 years. I produced over 5,000 articles and 200+ videos.

From March of 2005 until I left the program in November 2010, I held the title “Microsoft MVP, Windows Phone”. The title changed from Pocket PC to Windows Mobile and finally to Windows Phone over that time. I still have connections with many great PR firms that represent the OEMs and wireless carriers. I am also a member of the exclusive Mobius group.

What is the Mobius group?

Mobius is an invitation-only community of the world’s most influential technology pundits and online writers. The collective insights, opinions and influence of Mobius drives market trends, industry buzz and the buying behavior of people worldwide. Mobians interact behind the scenes with companies big and small to shape the direction of devices, services, pricing, design and the culture of consumer technology

I am 38 years old, have 2 children, and a lovely wife. I am fun loving, funny, hard working, and I sort of think that I am talented. Although, I am more of a jack of all trade, master of none type guy, I can be a master of a trade with the right tools and opportunity.

Thanks for visiting and please read on to find out how to hire me!

Hire me as a full time employee?

I have recently been considering a career change into something where I can take my internet community building experience, social networking addiction, and technical background into a company to help their presence. I almost dove into a PR job a few years ago, but was unsure. Today, I would re-consider that opportunity I passed on. I honestly feel that there are companies out there that need what I can offer, they just don’t know that I am offering it.

Any career change opportunities would have to be evaluated very closely by myself and my family. I am content and financially secure in where I am now, but I am thinking out loud based on the whole premise of loving what you do. My job pays great, it’s not hard, and it’s in my hometown of Tuscaloosa, but it’s not the job I wake up excited to go to.

Companies I have been considering contacting include HTC, Microsoft, AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Cellular South.

Hire me as a part time employee?

If you want to throw something at me that I could do on nights and weekends, I can listen. Writing, shadow blogging, forum postings, whatever. I can help. I have plenty of experience online as a community leader, editor, and blogger. I am the founder of many great sites that are still online today. Sectalk.com, Aximsite.com, Mobilitysite.com, and I even ran a successful gaming website that I recently moved on from as well. From the ground up, these sites were developed, run and the communities were cultivated by myself and some great team members.

Hire me as a Web Dev, Graphic Designer, or Community Consultant?

If you know my work and want me to do something for you or your business, I would be happy to chat. I consider myself more of a community/thought leader, but I have been known to put out some great work in the design field. (Portfolio)

Hire me to evaluate products?

Part of the success of Aximsite and Mobilitysite were the in depth reviews I wrote on devices, accessories, and software. I did formal and video reviews of 50+ devices from Smartphones to audio players to Pocket PC devices. I provided feedback for our users as well as the companies that presented their product for review. I am proud to say that I have found bugs that were able to be fixed based on my feedback on a few occasions too.

  • I would be happy to provide a service to companies in the form of product feedback.
  • I would also be happy to review products here on my own blog. I don’t currently write for any other blogs and I don’t plan on doing so anytime soon.

I am currently writing for GottaBeMobile about the mobile space. I am doing device reviews and commentary currently.

Hire me for a special project?

Hmmm. I love some super secret projects. Tell me more! In addition to being a former community leader, I kind of consider myself a little bit of an entrepreneur.
