Aye, I am well aware of third parties for many apps and services. Sometimes they work great, sometimes they don't. For instance, the 3rd party apps for XM Radio work, but they don't give you access to every channel like the "Official" App on Android does.

If you read Nick's post, he also mentions that he knows there are 3rd party solutions, but the point is that these companies need to step up.

I wish I were a developer, there is so much money to be made filling holes until jackass companies recognize Windows Phone as a solid platform.

You know there may be some 3rd party support for some of those, Pandora - Metro Radio, Radio Controlled: LinkedIn - Link Me In; Google Maps - GMaps Pro (BTW I think the built in Maps in WP are comparable to the built in maps in iOS, and both offer third party Nav with turn by turn audio and offline routing) DropBox - Boxfiles for Dropbox and others; Audible seems to be thinking about it http://audible.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4029/kw/windows%20phone%207

I'd like to see Zinio myself. Some of those are limited to a limited set of subscribers, eTrade, ADT, HBO. Those guys are looking to satisfy their subscribers, not make money off of apps, so really need to beliave they have lots of WP users that subscribe. Write in, bug them.

Some there are so many ways to do things. I happen to like Pulse (vice Flipboard) as it is available on Android iOS and WP and I can set preferences one place. Maybe you can do that with Flipboard too. United app? Really? Can't go to United.com or use United Airlines App by Mj Apps, though that's just a wrapper. Maybe just switch to Delta or AA, they have apps. Or just use one of the dozen agnostic flight apps.

Comment on My Top 3 Windows Phone Twitter Clients: Rowi, Carbon, and Mehdoh by Mike Moore

Chris, thanks for the more detailed look at the three Twitter apps. The only issue I had with Rowi is there is no setting to modify how many tweets appear in the timeline although the other apps offer that (at least I couldn't find that setting in Rowi). It depends on how often you open the app and maybe the 50-60 that it shows is fine for some people but I prefer more. When I get up in the morning 50 tweets may only go back a half hour and I'd like to see more info than that.

I still haven't found a reason to stop using MoTweets because it seems to have the same features as the three apps you reviewed. It also has Facebook which is a great addition although the developers have some problems with it that they claim to be fixing (my FB section froze at 1/19/12). It also has "Nearby" which I find very useful because it shows tweets near my address and I've been able to add more local people to my following list. I don't see a Nearby in any of the other apps, unfortunately.

Overall, thanks for the detail reviews, there haven't been a lot of app reviews available online and most of the reviews that are made are rarely critical of the app and your honest approach is appreciated.

Wow I was supposed to have Direct TV installed today After calling to find out where the installer was they stated that my 30 day period was up and they stated that I would have to get a different contract that would be for for half the duration then they would reschedule an installation. After getting passed around from department to department and just getting more pissed I gave up. Now after reading these comments I guess I can say "thank you Direct TV" I am filing a complaint with the BBB and contacting Sam's Club since it was their promotion. I guess I will stick with cable.

It looks like WinCe/WinMobile all over again. GSM gets all the love, CDMA gets a token or two. I will grant that world wide GSM is the biggie, but if you are in the U.S., Sprint and Verizon are a pretty good sized market.
