Well, the original video is like 5 years old. While searching for the original, I found a video put up by HP responding to that video that was posted this year.

In 2006, a video surfaced of a U.S. soldier in Iraq taking his frustrations with an HP support policy out on his printer. HP resolved his issue in 2006. And for years, HP has offered overseas active duty U.S. military personnel free phone support for consumer products, even if they are out of warranty.

I didn’t know HP did this and if it’s 100% true, I salute them. That is what social media is about for businesses. Social media provides a voice for people that might not otherwise be heard. I have had great success with companies responding to my complaints on Twitter and this blog. It’s unfortunate that companies make mistakes, but it’s good to see one of them make it right when discovered.

Not because it’s got great editing skills, and it does.
