That HP video from Iraq surfaces again…

I saw it all over Facebook again today. It’s a video of an American Soldier in Iraq shooting up a broken HP printer protesting HP support wanting to charge him to help troubleshoot this printer.

Well, the original video is like 5 years old. While searching for the original, I found a video put up by HP responding to that video that was posted this year.

In 2006, a video surfaced of a U.S. soldier in Iraq taking his frustrations with an HP support policy out on his printer. HP resolved his issue in 2006. And for years, HP has offered overseas active duty U.S. military personnel free phone support for consumer products, even if they are out of warranty.

I didn’t know HP did this and if it’s 100% true, I salute them. That is what social media is about for businesses. Social media provides a voice for people that might not otherwise be heard. I have had great success with companies responding to my complaints on Twitter and this blog. It’s unfortunate that companies make mistakes, but it’s good to see one of them make it right when discovered.

Banged Out Lady Gaga – Bad Romance and Telephone

I know, I know… I look like I actually like Lady Gaga’s music with all these links, but really… I don’t. She does have a couple songs I enjoyed, but not all of them. Someone posted a link to the 1st video here on some forums I read and I checked it out. Awesome. A little digging brought up the bands 1st attempt at a heavy metal version of a Gaga tune too. Pretty good if you ask me!

I ran across this one over the weekend and had to share it. My wife loves Lady Gaga’s music, but she’s not a fan of the weirdo videos. You have to have watched the Bad Romance video to truly understand how great this video is. If you haven’t, check it out 1st, then watch the one I’ve embedded.

I am not the only one that loves this video, it’s been seen by more than 2 million in a week. Wow!
