Using my favorite bag of all time, the Pharos GPS accessory bag, I am loaded up and ready to go. Those of you that have known me for a while will recognize it for sure. I will also be carrying the Logitech Kinetik 15.4 bag to carry it all in. Disclaimer: Don’t hate the photos, they were taken in a poorly lit room with the Galaxy Nexus.

We start with a basic laptop for video editing and posting. Powerful enough to get it done.

Here we have the Pharos Bag! Contents reveals over the next couple photos.

Top left is a couple microUSB cables and a charge. Top middle is the Zune HD 32GB for in flight audio entertainment. Top right is empty, but it’s the memory card box in the next photo. Bottom left is the charger for the Canon S100 in the bottom middle slot. In the bottom right slot, I have my Galaxy Nexus battery charger and 2 spare batteries.

Several MicroSD cards, memory sticks, adapters, Eye-Fi, etc…

In the side compartment of the Pharos bag, I have a handful of screen cleaners to get the crap of demo devices for prettier photos.

Some money and batteries for the video cam microphone.

One of two HD Video cameras and the microphone. I am trying a new video camera out, but if it doesn’t do well for me, I am bringing along old faithful.

Finally, a nice monopod for those long interviews with vendors.

I have used the iPhone WordPress app before to check out comments, but as far as I can remember, I’ve never posted with the app. I wanted to test it out this morning. I might start blogging a little on the run and knowing how simple this will be will help make that choice. So far so good. There is definitely a lack of features, but that is to be expected. I’ll definitely need to edit on a PC later.

I am about to restart my original dot com. I know I won’t be able to do this alone, so I am hunting for some help before getting started. This is a project that I have been wanting to get back at for years, but never had the time. I think I can put a little time into it now.

I am looking for 1-3 people that would be interested in blogging about freebies. I don’t expect the site to make much money, if any. I plan to do some sort of revenue split as opposed to paying flat rates here.

If anyone is interested, please contact me soon. I am trying to talk my wife into turning her junk mail reading time into something more productive too!

This site will sit on a domain that I registered in 1998 or 1999. I ran the site somewhat successfully for a few years and had someone come by and offer me some cash to hand it over. I needed the money back then and sold it. When the buyer got too busy to maintain it anymore, he offered it back to me and I bought it back. It’s been sitting, waiting for some love, for 2-3 years. It’s been pointing to this site since I got it back. Help me get it going again!

Time flies when you are having fun (again).

In 3 weeks at GottaBeMobile, I have already pumped out 67 posts. Out of those 67, I feel that 50-55 were good quality, mostly original content posts. The type I love to do, but on Mobilitysite, I didn’t have to do that often. I had so many other duties to fill and had to keep content flowing as well. I didn’t like the work I was doing towards the end. Now, I have that time for the most part. I still haven’t written a review yet, but I have done 3-4 videos and I am in the process of reviewing 2 Android phones right now.

If you are interested in keeping up with my writing over there too, here’s a link to my posts.

Having fun again, despite my recent frustrations with Microsoft.

I am at a crossroad here and I am not sure which path to take. As some of you know, I quit writing 6 months ago and just returned a couple of weeks ago. I am enjoying this, but for the 1st time in over a year, I am proud to be a Microsoft MVP. Windows Phone has reinvigorated my passion a bit. I want to pop into the various forums I’ve been invited to help in and try to help users. I want to spread the good word about Windows Phone. The issues I see moving forward are 1) Time and 2) Being too bias on a site that wants some balanced coverage. I don’t want to turn GottaBeMobile into my personal Windows Phone evangelist site.

Over the last couple of days, I have toyed with a couple ideas, but I am not letting myself get in over my head again. I don’t want to commit more time than I can give. In the last 6 months, I have found a good balance betweet work, family, and play. (all this online time is my play time) I don’t want to ruin the balance I have had the last 6 months. I really like getting things done around the house that I have neglected all this time. I love having time to help my son in baseball and helping coach his team. I thought about using WP7site.com (I got this a couple months ago) to evangelize, but I don’t want to run my own site again. I’ve had a couple people approach me to help run their sites, same thing. I’ve even had a couple ask me to partner with them on a new site. I don’t want to run a site and I damn sure don’t want to start over from scratch again.

So, help me help myself with your opinion. Vote in this poll.

[polldaddy poll=3912244]

There is still the idea I have been pursuing that will change everything if it ever materializes. That is becoming a marketing/pr type at AT&T. I really think something like this would be great. I could have an impact on the success of a major carrier while still getting to interact with the social web. I could continue to have some fun with gadgets and phones too. Instead of taking vacation to go to CES or CTIA, I would go as part of my job. I would love that. Trust me! I am making contact with AT&T people trying to find the right people to talk to now.

Yes Jason, I know I am wishy washy.

I am sure many great sites used Disqus early on, but Crunchgear was where I found Disqus. What is funny is that they don’t even use it anymore. When I saw how cool Disqus as on Crunchgear’s site, I had to have it for Mobilitysite. Remember, this was prior to WordPress adding threaded comments to their innate commenting system. I went ahead and put it into action on Mobilitysite and followed suit with all the other blogs I ran, including this one.

Why dwell on Disqus’ success today? Well, I haven’t really paid attention closely because Engadget’s comments are usually littered with jibberish, but they are now using Disqus. In addition, I just noticed recently that the Wall Street Journal’s, All things D blog uses it too. Very cool to see this commenting platform mature and get adopted by such popular sites.

I have been a proud user of Disqus since April 2009, when I implemented Disqus into Mobilitysite. My old account is no longer active as I handed it over to someone else for moderating Mobilitysite.

I would love to see Disqus implemented in some way with vBulletin forums and better conversations on Twitter attached to blog post. Something like Echo (JsKit) does.
