50 in 50 Day 21 – eWallet

Here we go back to my PPC days. 3 of my favorite software makes have an electronic wallet application and nothing has changed. These same 3 developers are still at it and now bringing those apps to the iPhone. The 1st one I have looked at is eWallet.

Keep your info up to date at work, at home, or on the go! Sync your iPhone eWallet with a WiFi connected Windows PC. Don’t take risks with your passwords, account information, security questions, or card and identification numbers. Keep them protected and secure, but still convenient, in eWallet®.

  • Store Your Information Securely
  • Never Forget Another Password
  • Use Your Data Anywhere

With eWallet, you can set up different wallets depending on what you want to store. There are many types of records you can add. I ended up separating 3 categories. 1 for my credit cards and pinks, one for web passwords, and 1 for work passwords and info. As you can see, I have all 3 locked with a password.

What use is your data that you’ve spent a few hours inputting if you don’t have it backed up and you lose your phone or data? None really. You have to have the desktop, PC only, application to use this feature. If you are serious about backing your data up, I think the extra cost is worth it.

Each wallet you set up has the option to set it up with a password so your wife can’t find out your CC info and run your debt up even more. After you set these passwords, you will be prompted to enter it each time you want to dig down into a wallet.

Within each wallet, you can set up all sorts of data. What I am showing here is my financial wallet. Here I have “My Card” which refers to my credit cards. I have added my 2 debit cards and my actual credit card.

Here is what the cards look like. On the Regions check card, you can see a button that says “show”. You can tap that button to get your pin number. You can make your cards look all sorts of ways. There is an obscene amount of customization built into this awesome wallet app.

Wrap Up
eWallet is a very feature rich, very easy to use, very powerful data manager. You can use it for so much more than just cards and accounts. I would highly recommend this application to anyone planning to keep their data right at the tap of their finger. I haven’t tried any other wallet apps, but I don’t see a need to try any others really. This one does all I need it to do. (I think there are like 30 out and 3 of them are from devs I know and trust already) In less than 2 hours, while watching some MMA action, I was able to put everything I wanted to get into the app using just my iPhone (rather than the desktop client).

Pros:

  • Easy to use
  • Unlimited categories and subcategories
  • Customizable templates
  • Able to sync to an external source with SyncPro (but the downside is that the client is another $9.99 to buy)

Cons:

  • The desktop client only works if you are “a PC” and costs extra
  • You have to enter password again if your iPhone times out. This could be a good thing for security, but it’s annoying.

You can find out plenty more about this app at ilium Software. You can also check out a nice demo
