I agree, this is very uncommon, I have had all 3 systems (x360, Ps3, Wii) and the Wii & the PS# have booth been very reliable. I did have to get a new Wii because I let my sister and her kids borrow it for a while and it came back so nasty filled with dust I had to ask what did they do (no I didn't make them pay for it, since I had a good job at the time), but I have had my new Wii for over a year now and haven't had a problem. With regular cleaning all but the 360 are doing fine. the 360 red ringed right after the warranty went out.Pissed and no longer working I gave my 360 games to a friend for a 100 after i tore into and tried a few things i have read online on fixes, but none worked so now its in the trash. Heating and cooling is also a big thing. Mine always had 2-3 inches on both right and left sides and 4-5 in front or back. But the 360 runs the hottest i have come to see, then the Ps3 and the Wii runs the coolest of them all. So with proper handling and care normally there are few problems. But for this to happen so many time to one person really sucks. I mean when my 360 red ringed. I was mad enough to go out and buy a steam roller and run it over, if I could have. Hope it all works/worked out for you.

Sorry to hear your bad luck ... but it is definitely NOT typical. In fact, two seperate recent studies showed that the X360 is least reliable console (perhaps ever>??) with a >50% failure rate, the PS3 ~15-20% and the Wii ~10%. In fact I think I know fewer people who have had Wii issues than those who have NOT had X360 problems ...
