EarthLink loses fiber line sharing case

Why is it that companies feel that they are entitled to assets that another company spent 30-40 years developing? No, its not about competition, its about ownership. If you go home and spend 4 hours a night making your garden and it grow some wonderful veggies, do you want your drunk ass neighbor that was kicking his dog while you were working staking a claim on your veggies? That is what some companies are trying in the Telecom industry. Let me lease your garden for pennies on the dollar in bulk please? This just chaps my ass!

I was pleased to hear that the courts made a good choice in a case recently though!

The Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit has upheld a Federal Communications Commission ruling that telcos can lay new fiber networks without being forced to lease them to other companies. EarthLink had challenged the FCC’s 2004 decision which had relieved the local telecoms of any responsibility to share space on new fiber deployments.

If Earthlink want Fiber, bury it your damn self!!
